The Poppy Seed Adventure

Do you ever feel you are existing without living?

Five years ago, Poppy Everson was climbing the corporate ladder, but she would rather climb a mountain instead. Feeling as though she was dying behind a desk she decided to set herself free. Leaving her job, her hometown, and her younger sister behind to find the meaning of life. Along the way she scattered “Poppy Seeds”; physical and emotional marks she left on her travels not only to prove that she was there but to serve as a trail for the sister she never stopped thinking about.

In the Present day, Isabelle Everson is right where her sister left her. She stayed. She is a soft-spoken homebody content in the quiet routines of her college life majoring in English. But when a letter arrives, threatening to disrupt her predictable life, she must uncover truths about herself, her family, and her future.

Their two stories intertwine as Poppy’s vibrant past echoes through Isabelle’s transformative present. As Isabelle is forced out of her comfort zone, she discovers that the poppy seeds were an invitation to the shared adventures they never got to have.

Heartfelt and deeply redemptive, this is a testament to a sisterhood that proves the marks we leave on those we love are the only things that truly endure.

“I love a dual timeline story! You portray Poppy as a complex and layered character we care about from the start.”

— My Editor

“You definitely have a gift with metaphor. Your story kept my interest and this isn’t even my preferred genre.”

About The Author

I wanted to write a book I wanted to read. I remember being in search for my next great read and imagining a story that had themes of travel, sisterhood, and navigating early adulthood with a twist. After searching for that idea I decided to write it.

I was inspired by multiple sources in my life. ‘Eat Pray Love’ and ‘Eat Pray love Made Me Do It’ showed me how much impact a story could have on its reader. I thought if my book could make a difference in one reader’s life then I have achieved my goal.

I love books & movies and have a passion for unique stories. I really wanted to try a genre blending story that could offer a fresh perspective. I wanted to create a story that had so many layers that it would stick with the reader well after the last page is turned.

Dear Readers,

I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Sincerely,

Ella
